The latrine built with my great Swedish friends money

January 29, 2009

davidslaunicatoday Take a good look up in the left corner…. it says “B. Toilet”…. David, shown in the film is step by step fullfilling his vision of LA Unica.

You can help them improve LA Unica childcare centre to become something even more than it is.

They are eager to build a fishtank (400 USD), for extra income to the school. as of today there is no electricity (800 USD)

The best about my friend David and his team is that they never give up!

Watch the short movie clip

At my 40th birthday, instead of giving presents that I dont need, they were asked to donate to this cause. I was happy to recieve enough to build the latrine (2800 SEK, 350 USD). Safe latrine is the start of a better life. What can be better than helping people improve their lives.

Kenya is a lot……

January 27, 2009

There are many different things to experience in Kenya. My friends invite you to experience Kenya with their eyes!

rinos

Take my friends on safari! Some of them have not been to one. To expensive for them. On a Toyota safari bus, four adults and two kidz cost about 85 dollars…. Go for it…. together!

schoolroad

This is Carolines and Waveru´s road towards school. Kenya is dusty and more green than asphalt covered. They are a very welcoming people. As I walked the dusty roads in Kenya I did not walk with fear, only calmness and not stressed. The tempo is slower, the heat takes the stress out of your body, one cannot move as fast as up in the northern part of the world where we need to move or we get cold.

atmamas

This is at mamas home. She left her youngest son Paul with her mother when Paul was only a small boy due to personal circumstances and now when he has grown up having two great kidz and wife. The contact is reestablished and she is very happy over the son and mother realtion. Great with grandkidz too.

One would think that a newcomer would not feel at ease getting so close with strangers. Thats the beauty of Kenya… You are welcome.. newcomers are interesting and helpful. You are welcome.

(Naturally I primarily write to you… who I know.. who I can recomend into my friends home… But to all the rest that read this.. please feel the welcoming Kenyan spirit in general and do not be afraid of taking contact with Kenyan families in the streets, they are just like us, eager to make friends)

Give them a rope!

Wow, awarded….

January 22, 2009

premio_dardos_awardThis award “acknowledges the values that every Blogger displays in their effort to transmit cultural, ethical, literary, and personal values with each message they write.”

I understand this award comes with a couple of rules, and they are:

1. Accept the award, post it on your blog together with the name of the person who granted it to you, along with his/her blog link. Letters from lin

2. Pass the award to (15) other blogs that you feel are worthy of this recognition.

And I will follow the spirit of the law in this! I will give the reward to one blog that I have found to represent exactly what the reward is after. My choice is… I can not be bothered with chainletters and this reward will not become one in my hands.

But Putin did not get Iceland….

January 17, 2009

putin

The troubled times around the globe has hit Iceland very hard, due to a few people leading the way … getting very high loans…. This mentality has really taken absurd highs among the people as well and the spending and loaning did not seem to have an end at all… til this fall.. when all failed and Iceland almost turned to Russia for help when EU and nordic countries came to rescue with huge more loans….

Hm , I just wonder…. It usually never pays of to take more loans to contiune shopping, how come the world appears to be so will ing to take enourmous loans this fall… Maybe the house of cards almost fell… got to keep it standing.. at all costs.

Be wise! It does not matter how much money one has, but it all matters how you spend them. Cash is king! Be careful with loans…. Lots of cheap used cars in Iceland these days…. too many can not afford paying off their heavy loans…

Thought of the day! 100% or 50/50?

What needs to be before humans settle for helping one another?

How far will the world take the road of cheating, stealing and fighting?

I hope there is an end to this!

- Maybe we are to give oneanother 100% instead of expect halfway solutions with 50/50

Dont let the sun set, let it rise!

You cant force others to change, but you can change yourself. Make a choice today

Back to work….

January 7, 2009

Many thoughts have crossed my mind this first day at work. Pondered over needs. I have raised several issues of needs today to several persons.

Needs of having a reasonable schedule and good laptop available. Needs are relative.

The sooner we westerners realise the true meaning of needs, the sooner this world will be whole, we will then help oneanother to get through the day and more.

December, life is full….

January 1, 2009

september-november-207Part of this blog needs to be in Swedish, this is a quote from my personal history: “December är tänkt att vara en månad när man ger och känner glädjen av att ge.
