Capitol region scenery

By Pappa Hans

All is not nature in Iceland. The capitol region consists of house as in any other bigger city. The apartments are usually private owned and the prices are very expensive. Some relatives have bought apartments to let for a round figure, as investments and sideincome, very industriuos. This view gives a glimpse of about a tenth of the urban reykjavik region.

Building sites all over the region in the summer of 2008…. All stopped starting october 2008, crisis came to surface…. too big loans…. everyone in deep debt…

fun to see the cities in Iceland also. is this where Elsa is from?

Yes shes from Reykjavik, and comes back every year or so. This is the only place that I would call city, still only about 170 000 inhabitants. The second … is a town with about 15 000 and looks like a fjord town on a small slope well into the wide fjord, Akureyri. The third place is Selfoss, but selfoss cant have more than most 5-7000 its like a rural small town on a flatland with lots of fields around it. Its around Selfoss that my wife has most roots, but she says shes from Reykjavik where she grew up.
